Even if we don’t see it by Johana Aguirre

Sometimes in our lives, it is hard to keep walking forward to our goals, or the purpose that God had set in front of us. Maybe we feel that we don’t have the strength to do it, that we see everything blurry, or that we don’t know which way we should take. Sometimes we just start asking so many questions and we don’t have all the answers yet. But remember…

God is under control

He is faithful and fulfills all his promises. We just need to ask him for wisdom and he will give it to us. Probably he will not show us the clear picture as we want, but he surely will guide our path step by step. When we learn to trust him and to walk by faith he will work everything out for our good. He will provide and give us all the tools and the strength we need. He will surround us with the right people, those that are going to draw us closer to him, that are going to speak life into our lives, and those that are going to encourage us to pursue the purpose that God has created us for.

5Commit your way to the LORD;

trust in him, and he will act. Psalm 37 ESV

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1:5 NVI

23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23 NVI

20 God can do anything, you know- far more than you can ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! Ephesians 3:20 MSG

He still working

Remember even if you don’t see it or feel it, he still working on you. Helping you to become the woman and the man he has called you to be. We just have to trust him, to learn to love the process, to surrender our lives to him. Allowing him to be the one who transforms our lives, the one who cleans and heal our hearts, the one who takes out all those things that are not good for us, thoughts, or actions that don’t glorify him and that instead is creating a barrier between us and him. Let’s just let him be the potter of our lives and he will shape us according to his will. This will not just help us to grow, to develop our character, but it also will draw us closer to him.

Then the word of the Lord came to me. He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel. Jeremiah 18: 5-6 NVI

He is trying to set us free from our past, our failures, our grief but sometimes we just keep looking back, to things that don’t belong to us anymore, things that distract us from the future and the wonderful promises he has on hold for us. We need to learn to let go of that and to fix our eyes on Jesus and hold tight to his promises.

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17 NVI

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12: 1-3  NVI

He is building us up

Have you realized that mismanaged emotions are enemy number one of God’s will? Yes, they are, and that is the reason why is so essential to protect our hearts, to give our hearts to him. He is the only one that can fulfill what is missing in our lives. His love, his peace, and his joy are all that we need.

Make him the most important relationship in your life, give him all the power, and set him in the place he deserves. When God knows you very well, he will give you what you need over what you want. When we walk by purpose, we don’t let our emotions or circumstances control us, we learn to control them.

23. Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Proverbs 4:23 NVI

I know that something is challenging to keep looking forward to. Especially when we are feeling down, lonely, or when we have been hurt, but you know what is so beautiful that in those moments is when God uses us the most, either to help others or to help us grow. Keep this in mind when our emotions say stop, our faith should scream go ahead! Don’t stop, don’t give up, keep trusting, keep fighting, don’t put a period where God has put a comma. When you say you can’t anymore, God says I can, I am going to do it.

Here is a little story about what God taught me when we were remodeling my mom’s house back in Colombia and I want to share it with you guys.

The builders had to break down some parts of the house to put columns that would make it stronger, and more resistant for what was to come in the future and to continue building on it. And I understood that sometimes God works the same way in our lives, sometimes we have to be broken for God to work in us with those pieces, and then give us the strength we need to continue firm and persistent in the different races that he has called us to run, placing him as the FOUNDATION of our life, our work, and our relationships.

24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” Matthew 7: 24-27 NVI

He is using you

Where you are right now, matters! He didn’t bring you there by accident, everything has a reason, maybe he is asking you to do something in that place, neighborhood, job, home. Or maybe he wants to use you, but you might say “I have nothing to offer”, but yes you do! He wants to use your hands, your heart, your life, to work throughout you. He is with you, within you. And will use you to bless other people’s lives, throughout a smile, throughout to a kind word, throughout your gifs, throughout the dream he has put in heart. It doesn’t have to be with big actions all at once, we can start with the little things, and we will be able to transform other people’s lives without noticing it. As we receive God’s grace, we have the choice to share that same grace with others.

He wants to spread his love, and hope through you. Remember there is so much craziness going on around the world right now that we can surely do something to bring peace, to bring light into the dark season, and to put seasoning to this world. That’s what we were called to, don’t we? Don’t stop dreaming it will bless other people’s lives.

13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. 14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5: 13-16 NVI
